Volunteers
We seek programming opportunities for our detained juveniles. If you have a specific program you would like to propose, please contact our Detention Manager at JSHR@washoecounty.gov. 

All volunteers are subject to a background check.

Internships
Washoe County Department of Juvenile Services offers an internship program in partnership with the University of Nevada, Reno. We offer internships in the following fields.
  • Criminal Justice
  • Human Development and Family Studies
  • Center for the Application of Substance Abuse Technologies (CASAT)
  • Social Work

Students in their senior year who are interested in completing an internship with Juvenile Services should contact their University Advisor to determine the necessary qualifications.

All interns are subject to a background check.
