Nevada Clean Energy Fund (NCEF) Board of Directors
The Washoe County Board of Commissioners is seeking one qualified applicant to serve on this board.
The Nevada Clean Energy Fund (NCEF) is a nonprofit organization created in 2017 by state legislation and officially launched in January 2022. NCEF provides financial and technical resources to accelerate clean energy growth in the state, reduce energy costs, create jobs, and meaningfully address climate change. NCEF works with communities, local businesses, schools, governments, utilities, contractors, lenders, and others to increase access to clean energy opportunities such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, electric vehicles, and energy storage.

NCEF also serves as Nevada's Green Bank. Green Banks address clean energy market gaps and financial barriers, with a particular focus on historically underserved communities.

The NCEF Board of Directors consists of Nevada state government officials and nominees from state labor organizations and counties that are appointed by the Governor of Nevada.

Membership

This appointment will be for a three-year term set to begin at the time of appointment by the Governor’s Office. Nomination and potential reappointment can be sought thereafter.

The applicant should have expertise in matters relating to renewable energy, economic development, banking, law, finance, or other matters relevant to the work of the Board.

Applicants should have minimal conflicts of interest that might prevent them from participating in Board decision-making.


Time Commitment

Members must have a willingness to commit the time for attending the quarterly board meetings and respond to interim requests and ad hoc meeting requests.

Washoe County HOME Consortium Technical Review Committee
The Washoe County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants to fill one opening on this committee.
The Washoe County HOME Consortium (WCHC) is comprised of the City of Reno, the City of Sparks, and Washoe County. The WCHC makes loans available for the development of affordable housing units. Its primary goal is to assist lower income families and individuals, including homeless and special needs groups, to obtain affordable housing. The WCHC also allocates funds to housing assistance programs, including down payment assistance to first time homebuyers, monthly rental assistance, rental and utility deposit assistance, and homeowner rehabilitation assistance. The directors of the WCHC are the city managers of Reno and Sparks and the manager of Washoe County.

The WCHC Technical Review Committee (TRC) reviews eligible projects for the Affordable Housing Municipal Loan Program. The committee evaluates and reviews project applications, makes funding recommendations, and provides a forum for discussion on regional housing issues.

The NCEF Board of Directors consists of Nevada state government officials and nominees from state labor organizations and counties that are appointed by the Governor of Nevada.

Membership

This appointment is for a partial three-year term set to begin on July 1, 2024, and end June 30, 2026, with the potential to be reappointed.

Potential conflicts of interest are to be announced at TRC meetings. Depending upon the relationship, members may be required to disclose or abstain from voting on certain matters.


Time Commitment

This Committee meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month or more frequently as circumstances require.

Washoe County Planning Commission
The Washoe County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants from South of the Truckee River to serve as an At-Large on this board.
The Planning Commission hears and decides on applications for abandonments, certain special use permits, and subdivisions; the Commission also makes recommendations concerning the County’s Master Plan, regulatory zone changes, and development code amendments which regulate land use in Washoe County.

Membership

This position is for a four-year term beginning on July 1, 2024 and ending on June 30, 2028. Applicants must live within the unincorporated portion of Washoe County-At-Large South of the Truckee River and be a registered voter (this requirement may be waived by the Washoe County Board of Commissioners).

Unincorporated Washoe County south of the Truckee River generally includes all areas of unincorporated Washoe County south of the Truckee River and includes Incline Village and Crystal Bay.

Time Commitment

The Planning Commission meets the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Washoe County Commission Chambers. Meetings average 2 to 3 hours in duration. Special meetings may be called by the Chair.

Each member of the Planning Commission is compensated $80.00 per meeting attended.
