Board of County Commissioners

Connect With Your Commissioner

The five Washoe County Commissioners are elected by constituents within their districts for a four-year term to serve as the Board of County Commissioners (BCC). Similar to other governing boards (city council, town board, etc.), the BCC has the authority to adopt ordinances and resolutions, which are laws enforced by local law enforcement, authorities, and district attorneys. Commissioners also serve as the Board of Fire Commissioners for Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue and sit on other boards & commissions throughout the region.

The BCC meets the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Tuesday of every month. View the upcoming meeting schedule or watch a meeting here.
