Washoe County crews working on flood response efforts
Local streams and ditches at high risk of flooding. Sandbags are available.

Reno, Nevada. Feb. 7, 2017. The Washoe County Community Services Department is responding to localized small stream and ditch flooding today due to persistent rain and is reminding residents of resources available.

Crews have been working to address culverts, roadside ditches and flooding throughout Washoe County, including Lemmon Valley, Washoe Valley, the Steamboat Ditch in south Reno and in Pleasant Valley.

Dispatch is getting reports of water over roadways and drainage ditches overflowing. Residents in unincorporated Washoe County who are experiencing flooding should call 775-328-2180. If it’s an emergency, please call 9-1-1.

Washoe County also has resources available for residents. Sandbag locations are available at these locations.

In addition, Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District is assisting with sandbagging and property protection.
