Child Care Licensing & Early Childhood Services

Washoe County Child Care Services is responsible for regulating and monitoring the temporary care provided to children outside of their home by caregivers other than their natural parents. We will use the laws and regulations set by the State and the County to insure a minimum level of care is provided to children to maintain and facilitate their normal development, health, safety, and welfare.

We believe children, parents, and the community have a right to expect that licensed facilities will provide an environment for children that nurtures growth and potential. To that end we will work to define and promote quality in caregiving, serve as a resource to providers and parents and advance education in the field.
