OPEN BURNING IS CLOSED FOR THE SEASON.  OPEN BURNING IS NO LONGER ALLOWED WITHIN TRUCKEE MEADOWS FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT.  CHECK BACK IN THE FALL TO SEE IF WE WILL OPEN BURNING FOR THE FALL BURN SEASON.

Residents may call the main TMFPD office at (775) 326-6000 with further questions.

Open House and Living With Fire Event

SAVE THE DATE!  SATURDAY, JULY 18, 2015

As part of Nevada Wildfire Awareness Month, we encourage you to “Improve Your Odds – Prepare For Wildfire”.  Every action you take at your home or in your community to reduce the wildfire threat and prepare for the next wildfire can help increase the odds of survival.  This event will help you take action.

WHEN:  Saturday, July 18, 2015

Open House:  9:00 to 10:00 am      Presentation:  10:00 am to Noon

WHERE:     TMFPD Station 229  --  6015 Ironwood Road, Palomino Valley

WHAT:  Visit with the fire volunteers and representatives from the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and Living With Fire during the open house.  This is a family-friendly event with fun activities for the kids, including the Ember House game and the Fire Safety House.  Enjoy some refreshments and during the Program learn about:  Local Fire History and Fire Risk, Creating Defensible Space, and Being Ember Aware.  Please join us!!
