Memorials & Tributes

MEMORIALS AND TRIBUTES

$250.00 - Adopt-A-Plant Program

Our horticultural staff will schedule a meeting to advise you which shrub or plants are available for adoption. A shrub may be adopted in memory or in honor of an individual. Upon adoption, the information will be sent to the family member or individuals of your choice. The cost for a shrub or plant includes; a one-time replacement, certificate of adoption, location of the plant (map) and a brass plaque that is placed in the Visitor Center at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park.

$250.00 - Memorial Bricks

A respectable way to honor a loved one or pay tribute to a family member, friend or business, is through our Memorial brick program. All bricks are located in the Labyrinth garden and only the name is engraved of the person, friend or business you are honoring.

$750.00 -  Adopt-A-Tree Program

Our horticultural staff will schedule a meeting to advise you which trees are available for adoption. A tree may be adopted in memory or in honor of an individual. Upon adoption, the information will be sent to the family member or individuals of your choice. The cost for a tree includes; a one-time replacement, certificate of adoption, location of the tree (map) and a brass plaque that is placed in the Visitor Center at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park.

$2,500.00 - New Deciduous or Evergreen Tree

Our horticultural staff will meet with you and help you make the best choice for your special gift. Then they'll help you select the appropriate species, and staff will then purchase and plant the tree. All new trees selections and planting must coincide with the Arboretum Master Plan or the needs of the collection. The cost includes; a one-time replacement, certificate of adoption, location of the tree (map) and a brass plaque that is placed in the Visitor Center at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park. Because of the unique and diverse plant collection at the arboretum, our policy no longer allows us to accept live plant material or to install special objects such as bronze memorial plaques, granite boulders, posts, water features etc.

$3,500 - Memorial Bench

A memorial bench is wonderful way to honor a loved one or pay tribute to a family member, friend or business. Limited to certain areas of the garden, our staff will meet with you to find that special place for your memorial.  A plaque will be placed on the bench in your honor.

$2,500 - $50,000 - Labyrinth Garden Donations -  Gardens

The Labyrinth Garden is a project initiated by the Nevada State Attorney General's Office, the Washoe County District Attorney's Office, and VICTORY (Victims In Crisis, Turmoil, or Recovery). It is dedicated to victims of violent crime in our community and their loved ones.

Labyrinths have been used for centuries as tools for healing, meditation, and bringing peace into people's lives. These patterned circuits offer a place for people of all faiths and beliefs to walk, think, or simply reflect in order to help themselves and their families heal on a personal, as well as a community, level. They are distinct from mazes, which are designed to confuse people by confronting them with many entrances, endings, and choices.

Donations are required to complete the phases of the Labyrinth Garden, which includes landscaped areas. If you or your organization would like to sponsor or support this continued development, or honor a loved one, please fill out and then print out and mail the donor form. Memorial bricks are also available. All proceeds benefit the maintenance and operation of the Arboretum.

We thank you in advance for your generosity in furthering this healing, meditative place which benefits our entire community.
