The Washoe County District Attorney’s Office has secured a life sentence in a recent lewdness with a minor case. Aaron Ray Isom, age 36, from Reno plead guilty in August to one count of Lewdness with a Minor Under the Age of 14 years old. Isom was sentenced to life in prison, with the possibility of parole after 10 years has been served and a 10 thousand dollar fine. In addition, Isom will be subject to lifetime supervision and registration as a sex offender upon release from prison.

The case against Isom began in January when the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) responded to a report of child sexual abuse. WCSO Detectives began an investigation and determined that Isom had sexually abused two female victims, age 12 and 13.   The victims, who were not related, encountered Isom at different times and were subsequently abused by him. Isom was arrested and this office field formal criminal charges against him.

At sentencing, Deputy District Attorney (DDA) Brittany Bishop argued that the defendant was a predator, whose pattern in victimizing young girls had wreaked devastation over the victims themselves and their families. DDA Bishop added that Isom was deserving of a life sentence because the victims will spend the rest of their lives dealing with trauma they endured at his hands.
