Division Director – Epidemiology and Public Health Preparedness

Position Information: Under administrative direction of the District Health Officer, provides leadership, guidance and direction for the Public Health Preparedness, Regional Emergency Medical Services, Epidemiology, and Vital Statistics Program activities of the Washoe County District Health Department; and perform related duties as assigned.
The Epidemiology and Public Health Preparedness (EPHP) Division Director is a senior leadership position responsible for management and leadership of the division. This is an unclassified, appointed position. The EPHP Division has a staffing level of 19 (FTE) and annual operating budget of $3 million. The EPHP Division Director is responsible for the administration of the Division and is assisted by an Epidemiology Program Manager, and a Preparedness Planning and Emergency Medical Services Program Manager. Other Division functions include vital statistics and community health assessments. In addition to administrative and leadership responsibilities of the division, the Director works with the other Health District Division Directors and Officers on cross-divisional, community-based, and strategic/transformation initiatives of the Health District. The EPHP Division Director reports directly to the District Health Officer and provides monthly status reports to the District Board of Health.
