Reno, Nev. June 3, 2019. Hot summer days and nights have arrived and Washoe County’s elderly population need the gift of breeze. In an effort to provide some relief from the heat, KOLO Cares News Channel 8 and the Washoe County Human Services Agency (HSA) are calling on the community to donate new fans for our seniors from now through the month of August.
Those 60 and older can pick-up a fan by contacting Washoe County Senior Services at (775) 328-2575 or stop by the Washoe County Senior Center at 1155 E. 9th Street, Building E.
What: KOLO Summer Fan Drive for Seniors.
Where: New fans must still be in the box and dropped off or picked up at Washoe County Senior Center at 1155 E. Ninth St., Building E, Reno.
When: June 3 through Aug. 31, 2019. Drop off or pick-up fan between 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Details: Only donations of new fans in the box will be accepted. To qualify for a fan, recipients must be 60 years of age or older. Seniors without air conditioning and those who have not previously participated in the program are a priority.
