Reno, Nev. May 14, 2018. The historic Washoe County Bowers Mansion is set to kick off the 2018 tour season with a variety of events and fun for the whole family.
The events begin at Bowers Mansion on Opening Day, May 19, and will include a Civil War Reenactment, then on May 25 the “Programs on the Porch” concert series will begin and will run every Friday through June 15.
Civil War Reenactment at Bowers Mansion:
WHEN: Saturday, May 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
DETAILS: The ongoing Civil War exhibits and demonstrations are free. Self-guided tours of the historic Bowers Mansion will be available for $5 Adults, $3.50 Children & Seniors.
“The Nevada Civil War Volunteers (501c3) is a group of historical reenactors dedicated to preserving and sharing American history. Join us as we escort you back in time to get a glimpse of life during the Civil War” said Rebecca Van Sickle, NCWV Civilian Chief of Staff.
Programs on the Porch at Bowers Mansion:
WHEN: Every Friday at 7 p.m., from May 25 – June 15.
DETAILS: The performance series is free, however donations are accepted. Bringing a blanket or low back chair is recommended.
