Citizen Advisory Boards

Participating on a local Citizen Advisory Board (CAB) is a direct way to help shape how a community functions, its character and its growth. The purpose of the CAB is to communicate ideas and concerns of local citizens on planning and development projects to the County Commissioners, thus enabling the Commissioners to better do the job to which they were elected. Topics of discussion at CAB meetings may include a review of local proposed development, regulations and master planning.

The Washoe County Citizen Advisory Boards were created pursuant to NRS 244.1945 and Washoe County Code Section 5.425. Each of the 9 active Boards has five members and 2 alternates; the terms of membership are set for staggered three year terms.
