Citizen Advisory Boards Application

Make a difference. Volunteer to serve on your Citizen Advisory Board.

Citizen Advisory Boards (CABS) represent areas across Washoe County and provide a community perspective on local issues to the Washoe County Board of Commissioners. They are an opportunity to directly participate in creating how our community functions, is structured and grows. Members are selected with the intent to provide representation from a broad cross-section of the community within the CAB geographical area. The idea is to ensure that all major viewpoints are examined, and that the CAB is not dominated by any faction or special interest group.

Members are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners for staggered  three-year terms beginning July 1. Appointments are made from a list of citizens who have submitted applications within the past year. The annual recruitment for applicants is in the spring, but an application may be submitted at anytime.  Applications are available from the download link below or from the Manager's Office.  If you are unsure about which CAB district you live in, click on the CAB boundry map link.

Once you have completed, you can submit your CAB application to the County Manager's Office by
