Gerlach, NV Economic Development: Covid Planning and Relief - $480,000.00
In order to provide for the economic vitality of Northern Washoe County, which was
negatively impacted by the cancellation of the 2020 Burning Man event due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this grant will assist in the development of appropriately socially distant lodging and food service for 200 staff who will be onsite working to build infrastructure to enable the production of the 2021 Burning Man event.

Washoe Safe Camp - $244,062.00
This grant will be utilized for the operational costs involved in starting a pilot safe camp program to address the needs of people experiencing homelessness in our community. This program will ensure that people experiencing homelessness have a safe, low barrier option to begin the process of transitioning into housing. This outdoor approach will allow campers to remain in the fresh high desert air as opposed to communal indoor options which pose greater risk for
contracting COVID‐19.
