Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (NNAMHS) Campus

In an effort to confront and address the root causes of homelessness, and further the vision of Washoe County’s Commission on providing a safe, secure and healthy community, the Human Services Agency (HSA) partnered with the Department of Health and Human Services to renovate vacant buildings at the Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (NNAMHS) campus to accommodate particular homeless populations.

This initiative will relocate homeless women, children and families currently staying in the Community Assistance Center (CAC) in downtown Reno; to a secure campus, where they will receive shelter, critical services and specialized programming to address their needs- giving them an opportunity to overcome homelessness.  In addition, this initiative frees up much need bed space at the Community Assistance Center (CAC), who will continue to provide shelter to homeless men.
