Crossroads is a benchmark housing program that assists local men and women in making a successful transition from substance abuse and homelessness to a productive and fulfilling lifestyle.
Three major partners provide substantial resources to the project. Washoe County Sheriff’s Department has established a strong connection with Crossroads through a system created to provide direct referrals from the jail upon release. This linkage is strengthened by the presence of two full-time Sheriff Deputies who are assigned to Crossroads through financial support from Human Services Agency.
The Human Services Agency has committed social workers and eligibility certification specialists to the program. These positions are out-stationed at the Crossroads facility and provide an additional element of service connection.
Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada owns and manages the properties where Crossroads is located. Washoe County contracts with CCNN for housing services and basic needs of Crossroads clients. CCNN is able to provide many donations to the program from their Thrift Store and food pantry.
Other community agencies that collaborate with Crossroads include Alta Vista Mental Health, the Veterans Resource Center and Smile Restore, Washoe County Alternative Sentencing Department, Reno Justice Court, Reno Municipal Court, Second Judicial District Court, WestCare and Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services.
