Operational Plan Requirements
The Washoe County Health District may require a permit holder to submit an operational plan to protect against health hazards. An Operational Plan is a written and approved document that details specific practices or procedures that are intended to ensure that:
A. An establishment is maintained in a clean and sanitary condition; or
B. Activities associated with the establishment’s operations do not compromise public health.
The submittal of an Operational Plan requires a plan review fee which can be found on our Fees page under "Operational Plan - Initial Review"
Due to health concerns associated with pets, food facilities that wish to accommodate customers with dogs in outside areas/patios must submit an Operational Plan for approval from the Washoe County Health District AND apply for a Waiver to allow for modifications to the Regulations of the Washoe County District Board of Health Governing Food Establishments.
If you need to submit an Operational Plan, the plan must include all items from the general checklist and the Operational Plan Review Application.
