Parks are a great space for families to get active and have fun. We’re collaborating with community partners to put on FREE events for the whole family! Join in on the fun and games and learn more about what parks have to offer.

Ride for Reading

  • Bike Month and join us for a low stress bike ride with a purpose! Ride for Reading promotes literacy and healthy-living by delivering books to children by bicycle. Riders will deliver books to a crowd of cheering children at Kate Smith Elementary School

 

Riding on the River

  • Presented by the Kiwanis, this is a free family festival where vendors will provide an array of health and safety education and activities. Kiwanis will be holding 5, 10, and 15 mile rides for adults and children and kids who participate in a scavenger hunt will be entered into a raffle to win a bike!

  • In celebration of One Truckee River Month, join us for a family-friendly evening with outdoor games and activities for everyone in the community.  Learn how free recreation opportunities along the river, in parks, and in your own garden can be a part of a healthy and active lifestyle.
