Washoe County Health District Offered Fee Deferral - At the Washoe County District Board of Health meeting on March 25, 2020, members approved a fee deferral of annual renewal fee collection for businesses impacted by the COVID-19 emergency. Following a number of extensions, on August 27, 2020, the Board voted to discontinue the fee deferral for all permit holders effective October 12, 2020.
The Washoe County District Board of Health provided for a deferral of permit fees until the Governor lifted Emergency Directive 003 directing non-essential businesses to close. At their August 27, 2020 meeting, they determined they could not extend the date until the Emergency Directive 003 was lifted and the final date of expiration of the deferral as October 12, 2020. This means any outstanding annual renewal fees not received by October 11, 2020 will be assessed late fees.
The Washoe County Health District is nationally accredited by the Public Health Accreditation Board and has jurisdiction over all public health matters in Reno, Sparks, and Washoe County through the policy-making Washoe County District Board of Health.
