Parks and Events

2021-Programs-on-Porch-Flyer.jpgNot quite ready for maximum-capacity events and indoor venues? Washoe County Regional Parks and Open Space has a variety of events and activities throughout our region all summer long.

First up is Programs on the Porch at Bowers Mansion, May 21 through June 18. Bring your own chair or blanket and enjoy performances of historical figures under the stars at these free community events.

Bowers Mansion is also launching a brand-new escape room experience June 25-26. Hunt for clues and solve the riddle that spans two regional parks as you try to “escape” in the great outdoors!

Kids love to keep cool at our regional splash parks in Sparks and the North Valleys. Hot summer days don’t stand a chance against geysers, fountains, buckets, and sprinklers of water to dodge, duck, or dash through.

From the ArTrail beginning at Crystal Peak Park in Verdi to the alpine foothill trails at Browns Creek, there are plenty of ways to get some fresh air, stretch the legs, and explore beautiful Washoe County!

For a full list and map of trails and parks, visit the Washoe County Park Directory. For more information on special events throughout the Truckee Meadows, the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority is your go-to resource.
