Fall 2019 Newsletter - District 2

Welcome from Commissioner Lucey:

I am thrilled to share with you the first issue of the Commissioner Connection Newsletter. This new communication serves to keep you informed on issues important to us here in District 2, as well as Washoe County as a whole.

With the start of a new school year under our belt, and fall in full swing in our beautiful region, the crisp autumn colors remind me that another year is almost behind us. As I look back there are many things I am proud of, but even more, it keeps me looking ahead to the future. I realize the winter season can bring amazing recreation, and also some challenges. I am working closely with Washoe County staff to ensure our infrastructure here in Washoe County is in tip top shape and ready for the weather.

Additionally, I continue to work with staff and other officials on larger regional issues like homelessness – not simply providing shelter, but an innovative approach to end this cycle for our fellow Nevadans with the Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health Systems Campus, or NNAMHS Campus. Finally, I am honored and humbled to have been appointed to our Nevada National Association of Counties organization as Vice President, so I can continue to represent us here in District 2 and Washoe County at the state level. I am so privileged to represent us and welcome hearing from you regarding both, what you love and your concerns, in our region.

I encourage you to read the newsletter below to stay up-to-date on our local news and events. My hope is that you enjoy reading it and find it a helpful resource.

Honored to serve,
Bob Lucey
