Greetings from Washoe County Chairman, Bob Lucey

lucey_bob.jpgThe summer of 2020 will be one for the record books in Washoe County, and not the kind of records that we want to celebrate or embrace.  Despite these challenging times, I have never been more proud to be a Washoe County resident, and represent the Washoe County Board of Commission.  Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, shortly after the new year, we have witnessed unprecedented heartbreak with illness, job loses, and loss of simple routines and events that we have come to know and love in Northern Nevada.

We are working regionally, together with our partners from the City of Reno, Sparks, the Washoe County Health District and others on a daily basis to find solutions and pool resources to keep our citizens safe and healthy. Stay up to date with the latest news on the pandemic through our regional website covid19washoe.com which is updated daily with the latest information on testing, results, hospitalization numbers and information specific to our region. Finally, I want to thank our residents for doing their part to keep our region safe. Together, we will come of out of this stronger than ever.
