Affordable Spay and Neuter Program

Spaying and neutering pets is important to help mitigate pet over-population in our community. A spayed/neutered pet will prevent unwanted pregnancies, and helps your pet live a longer, healthier life. The cost of spay/neuter procedures can be just out of reach for many pet owners. Washoe county Regional Animal Services is excited to offer affordable spay-neuter services to Washoe County residents who have an annual income of $60,000 or less through our partnership with SPCA of Northern Nevada and the SNYPS Program.

  • Offers affordable spay-neuter clinics every Thursday by appointment only
  • These appointments are opened every 3rd Thursday of the month at 9am. Appointments usually fill before the end of the day.
  • All pets do need to be dropped off the day before surgery between 2:00pm-3:30pm with WCRAS at 2825 Longley Ln #A.
  • WCRAS is unable to assist any pets residing outside of Washoe County!
  • Unfortunately, SNYPS is not currently set up to handle feral cat spays and neuter surgeries. If you book an appointment for a feral cat, or we are unable to handle your cat, we will not be able to fix them and your deposit will NOT be refunded. If you need help getting a feral cat fixed, we recommend looking into The Nevada Humane Society or Options Veterinary Care for feral cat spay/neuter services.

  • Self-administered vaccines are not accepted as proof. All vaccines must have been administered by a licensed veterinarian.
  • While we encourage you to apply and pay online, applications and deposits may be submitted over the phone or in person at the shelter. High call volumes will make call backs take longer than usual and do not guarantee an appointment.
