Lazy 5 Regional Park was acquired for and designed around a grove of existing trees to provide cool, shaded areas for the community to enjoy in a valley with few trees. The Orr Ditch, constructed circa 1878, cuts through the park, providing a lush, riparian corridor. The ditch is recognized for opening the valley to farming and ranching. The site of Lazy 5 Regional Park was purchased in 1993 as part of a voter-approved statewide Parks and Wildlife Bond. The park is 85 acres, five acres of which have been developed under Phase 1 of construction. Phase 1 includes a 5,000 square foot community center with an outdoor patio and barbeque area, a children's playground area, group and individual picnic areas, volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, and a multi-purpose field. The community center is available for business and social rentals. The park is open 7 days a week.

The water play park will be open five days a week through Sunday, August 29. Water Play Park hours are 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays; 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The Water Play Park is CLOSED on Mondays and Tuesdays. Daily admission is $3, children under 3 years old admitted free.
