The period for open burning of vegetative materials within areas protected by the Sierra Fire Protection District will conclude at midnight Monday May 31, 2010.
As the open burning period winds down, fire officials are reminding those with burn permits that open burning is not allowed on windy days, and is subject to local air quality controls by the Washoe County Health Department.
