Residential Chipping Program
Sierra Fire Protection District requires the request for chipping form be completed and signed before chipping is done on your property. Please deliver, mail, fax or e-mail your form once your piles are ready for chipping. Currently, it takes approximately 2 weeks from the time we receive your request to the date you are assigned for chipping. All scheduled chipping request are subject to change due to weather and fire activity.
All residents are requested to create defensible space by clearing flammable vegetation a minimum of 30 feet from structures. Please refer to Living With Fire website at www.livingwithfire.infoor contact Mark Regan with Sierra Fire Protection District at 775-354-9529 for a home safety inspection.
Chipping services will only be provided to participant with a residence on the property located within the Sierra or Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District.
