Community Service

* If you are sentenced to complete a required number of hours of community service or select community service in lieu of payment of fine, you must sign up at the Partial Payment Department.  There will be a $25.00 community service fee assessed, which is to be paid no later than 30 days of signing up.
* You will either be sent to the Washoe County Sheriff's Community Work Program or you may select to perform community service at a non-profit organization.
* In either event, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to make sure the court is appropriately notified in writing that you have completed the required number of hours.
* If you need an extension, there will be an extension fee of $10.00 for the first request and $25.00 for the second request assessed, which is to be paid at the time of the request.  YOU MUST MAKE THIS REQUEST IN PERSON, we will no longer be giving extensions over the telephone.  If you should need others you need to appear before the Court during Criminal Arraignments. The check-in time for Criminal Arraignments is 9:30 a.m. Monday - Friday and you must check in with the Partial Payment Department prior to appearing in Court.

If the court is not notified of a completion, a bench warrant will issue for your arrest.  A late fee of $25.00 in addition to a warrant fee of $250.00 will be assessed.
