Washoe County's Great Basin Adventure Park will not be open this summer like it has in the past. The gates will be open for passive use, but the log ride, pony rides and the petting farm will all remain closed. 

Unfortunately, the strict budget cuts have made it impossible to staff the park as it has been in the past.  But we are now looking at new ways to utilize the area and keep it open to the public. 

The hours that the gates will be open are the same as the rest of Rancho San Rafael, and we'll keep the gates open through Labor Day Weekend.  Also, the Discovery Room will be open from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays through the end of August.  The volunteer group running the Discovery Room has planned theme weeks for each week and will have crafts on the porch every Wednesday and storytime at 11:00 am every Friday.
