Statement from Bob Lucey, Chair of Washoe County Commission
Upcoming Presidential visit to northern Nevada

As Chair of the Washoe County Commission, we embrace the opportunity to welcome the sitting President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, and I am pleased to personally greet him upon his arrival to our region. 

As a County Commission, we collectively urge the President to work with county and city officials on federal issues that impact local governments.

We would like to utilize this opportunity to address the President on current issues impacting Washoe County residents. Specifically, we would like an opportunity to request an audience with Interior Secretary Zinke regarding economic development, conservation, a lands bill and to discuss future transportation infrastructure of I-11 Boulder City Bypass, recently mentioned by the President in his proposed infrastructure package. 

We look forward to working with the President and his staff on the needs and concerns on behalf of the residents of Washoe County.
