Sandbags available at several locations throughout Washoe County
Bags and sand provided free; bring your own shovel.
Reno, Nevada. July 7, 2015. The following locations are offering sandbags:
- Washoe County Operations Yard, 3101 Longley Lane, Reno
- Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District Station #17, 500 Rockwell Blvd., Spanish Springs
- Lemmon Valley Volunteer Fire Station, 130 Nectar St., Lemmon Valley
- At Idaho St. and Lemmon Drive (South side of Lemmon Drive), Lemmon Valley.
All of the piles are out in the open, so essentially they are available 24/7. We recommend that people bring their own shovels. People should take what they need, but be respectful of others needing sand. If the bags and/or sand piles are getting low, please call Washoe County Roads at 775.328.2180.
