District Attorney announces development of Public Information Officer position
DA Supervising Investigator Michelle Bays named to position.

Reno, Nevada. May 26, 2015. Washoe County District Attorney Chris Hicks announced today the creation of the position of Public Information Officer (PIO) and named Supervising Investigator Michelle Bays as the Office’s new PIO.  The PIO will act as a point of contact for the public and the media with a focus on keeping the citizens of this community informed about issues involving the District Attorney’s Office.  

“I am committed to maintaining a strong partnership with the community we serve,” said Washoe County District Attorney Chris Hicks. “This position will focus on that commitment by providing accurate and timely information about the critical work of this Office.”  

Supervising Investigator Bays has been with the DA’s Office Investigations Division since 2008.  She began her career in law enforcement in 1995 with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office where she held the position of PIO for a number of years. She has a Masters’ Degree in Political Science from The University of Nevada Reno and a varied background of training and experience in her field.  Her PIO duties will begin on May 26, 2015.
