Reno, Nevada. May 14, 2015. Local fire agencies are looking for donations to aid in the ongoing relief efforts in Nepal following multiple large earthquakes. Temporary shelters are being built and donations of tents and tarps are greatly needed. Tents and tarps, as well as, miscellaneous tools listed below may be dropped off at local participating fire stations between the hours of 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Fire Stations:
- East Fork Fire and Paramedic Districts
- North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District
- Reno Fire Department
- Sparks Fire Department
- Tahoe-Douglas Fire Station #23, 193 Elks Point Rd., Zephyr Cove
- Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District
Items Needed:
- Tents and Tarps
- Heavy duty leather gloves
- Tin snips for cutting 26 gauge sheet metal
- Hammers (16 – 22 oz.)
- Metal hole punches
- Linesman Pliers
- Cloth nail/tool aprons
All aid supports Himalayanaid.org, coordinated by Jim Rinaldi. Transport of all donations has been made possible by Aqua Sun International of Minden, Nevada.
