Reno, Nevada. January 30, 2015. University of Nevada’s Cooperative Extension teams up with Washoe County Parks to offer free gardening programs for all. All programs begin at 6 p.m. each Tuesday evening from Feb. 3 through March 31 in the park’s Western Heritage Interpretive Center. Programs are approximately two hours.

  • Feb. 10 – Pollinators for the Home Garden by Pawl Hollis
  • Feb. 17– Selecting Appropriate Shade Plants by Rod Haulenbeek
  • Feb. 24 – Growing Succulent Succulents by Liz Morrow
  • March 3 – Training and Pruning Fruit Trees by Michael Janik
  • March 10 – Paying it Forward through Sustainable Gardening by Pamela Van Hoozer
  • March 17 – GMOs: Facts and Fallacies by Heidi Kratsch
  • March 24 – Successful Vegetable Gardening Part 1 by Randy Robison
  • March 31 – Successful Vegetable Gardening Part 2 by Randy Robison

Bartley Ranch Regional Park is managed by the Washoe County Department of Regional Parks and Open Space. The park is located off Lakeside Drive about one-half mile south of McCarran Boulevard below the Windy Hill overlook. To enter, turn onto Bartley Ranch Road and cross the covered bridge.
