Government Affairs Program
Residing in the Management Services Division of the County Managers Office, the Government Affairs Program provides legislative support to the Board of County Commissioners, the County Manager, the Countys lobby team, and County departments.
During the Interim (between Legislative Sessions), Government Affairs Program staff tracks Interim Committee activity, pre-filed Bill Draft Requests known as BDRs, and works with County Management and the Board of County Commissioners to develop Washoe Countys legislative platform, agenda, and priorities for the Legislative Session. The 75th Legislative Session started February 2, 2009.
