Washoe County Fire Services Coordinator
The Fire Service Coordinators role is to enhance communication and coordination among all of the many fire departments in the region. Kurt Latipow serves as a liaison between the Washoe County Commissioners, Fire District Personnel and volunteers for problem-solving and issue management. Kurt will work on projects of interest between these entities and the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District, Reno Fire Department, BLM, USFS, Airport Authority Fire Department, Nevada Division of Forestry, Sparks Fire Department, and other related agencies.
Some of the issues of concern are fire emergency planning, fire prevention, resource allocation, fuels reduction and fuels management, federal grants, fire service effectiveness, hazardous materials management, evacuations and other issues related to fire management.
