Joint Fire Advisory Board
The purpose of the Joint Fire Advisory Board (JFAB) is to serve as an advisor to the Consolidated Fire Department and as liason to the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and the City of Reno. The Joint Fire Advisory Board (JFAB) meets on an as needed basis. Meetings are held at the request of the Fire Chief, upon the request of the Chairperson or Vice-Chairperson of JFAB, or at the request of either the City Council or District Board.
The Joint Fire Advisory Board (JFAB) has four members. Two members are elected officials appointed by the City of Reno Council and two members are appointed by the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District Board (Washoe County Board of Commissioners). The Joint Fire Advisory Board is established through the First Amended Interlocal Agreement for Fire Service and Consolidation Between the City of Reno and the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District in accordance with NRS 277.045.
