  • ABC-CLIO - ABC-CLIO puts many history/government databases all in one place. Here you'll find links to our American Government, American History, Unites States at War, United States Geography, World Geography, Ancient World History and Modern World History databases. Information is focused on history and social studies and is geared towards high school teachers and students. Easy to use with current information, links and pictures, the ABC-CLIO databases are a great place to start on your next history or government paper or project.
  • American Government - ABC-CLIO's database has feature stories about current events, information about the three branches of government, politics and foreign policy. Geared towards high school teachers and students.
  • American History - From the first explorers in the New World to the developments in today's headlines, this database investigates the people, events, and themes of our nation's evolution. Geared towards high school teachers and students.
  • Biography in Context - Use Biography in Context to find biographies, magazine articles, pictures and websites about famous people, past or present. You can search by name, occupation, date of birth or death. Or check out the Resource Center's "spotlight" feature to read a biography of someone new!
  • Brainfuse HelpNow™ - provides students with live, on-demand homework help and state-aligned skills building lessons from expert tutors.  Communicate with tutors in real time using a virtual, whiteboard classroom by writing, drawing, and marking-up lessons/web content.  Students can also access a full-service writing lab and an integrated test prep center.  Personalized account tools include the session replay, message center, and the integrated test prep area for a seamless academic assistance.
  • CQ Researcher (use outside of the library requires special password, please contact your librarian) - Provides in-depth analysis of 'hot' issues in the news. Topics range from social and teen issues to environment, health, education and science and technology. New topics added weekly. Look here for in-depth articles that explore both sides of an issue as well as pro/con lists on many topics.
  • Culturegrams - (outside the Library access OR inside Library) Reports on more than 200 countries, each U.S. state and all 13 Canadian provinces.  Includes history, culture and lifestyles of the world's people.
  • Discovering Collection - A wide-ranging collection that includes current news and radio items (for example, items from National Public Radio, Face the Nation and Meet the Press) as well as a variety of encyclopedias, this is an excellent resource for students needing general information or current events. It ranks its articles by reading level and includes primary sources as well as collections on cultures, geography, literature, science, and U.S. and world history.
  • Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia - This general-interest encyclopedia contains concise entries covering a variety of subject areas. Its articles include instructions on how to cite its articles.
  • General Reference Center Gold - A general interest database that integrates a variety of sources - newspapers, reference books, magazines, and trade publications. This database includes a subject guide search as well as the ability to search specific publications.
  • General Science Collection - Provides information on all aspects of the scientific world including full text coverage for more than 60 of the most popular science publications. Some examples of the publications included are Discover, International Wildlife and Scientific American.
  • Grolier Online - A comprehensive source of nonfiction content for grades 3 and up, Grolier Online provides access to two online encyclopdias.  The New Book of Knowledge features reference and current events information for elementary school and higher.  The Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia has quick reference with rich media for middle school and higher.  For access from outside the library enter username - WCLS and password - WCLS.

  • LearningExpress - A source for test preparation materials and interactive practice exams based on official tests including academic placement, law enforcement, teacher certification, and more. Set up a free account and use this from home or any computer. Look here for practice GED and occupational tests, including EMT and postal worker tests.
  • MAS Ultra - School Edition - Contains full text for nearly hundreds of popular high school magazines, full text reference books, biographies, primary source documents, as well as an Image Collection of photos, maps and flags.
  • Middle Search Plus - Provides full text for many popular magazines for middle school research. Includes biographies of artists and historical figures.
  • Nevada Career Information System - A resource for Nevada residents from the state Department of Employment, Training, and Rehabilitation. Take career aptitude tests, read about education requirements for many careers and find lots of vocational information.
  • Science Resource Center - In-depth, one-stop source for all science-related research needs. Focuses on key concepts taught in school classrooms such as earth science, science history, life science, physical science, science and technology, space and much more.
