Carey Stewart is a native Nevadan, graduating from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice.  Mr. Stewart brings to the position over 27 years of experience in juvenile justice.  He has spent his entire career working in the Juvenile Justice Field, and is committed to seeing that Washoe County Juvenile Services continues to strive toward excellence in the services that it provides to the kids and families here in the Truckee Meadows. 

Director Stewart has been instrumental in implementing the Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative here in Washoe County, and he serves as a member of the Nevada Association of Juvenile Justice Administrators, the Second Judicial District Court's JDAI Stakeholders Group and the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges' Reno Delinquency Model Court Team".
