Individual Development Plans
Overview
The IDP can be used to meet the development needs of any employee and allows a supervisor/manager to work with each employee on current performance development as well as future career development. Only those IDPs that are being used as training assignments need to be submitted to HR. If you need assistance with development of plans or have any other questions, please contact the Workforce Development Manager at 325-8027.
If you wish to register for a Management Development class and are a non- management employee, you must have an approved Individual Development Plan (IDP) prior to taking these classes.
The IDP is created in partnership with your supervisor. Once the required department signatures are obtained the form is forwarded to HR. HR will send a copy of the IDP to the association when required (only for those non- management employees taking the Management Development classes). The Human Resources Workforce Development Manager signs off on the IDP, the original is returned to the employee, and a copy is placed in the employee's personnel file in HR.
