Medical - Dental - Vision 

Washoe County offers its retirees comprehensive medical, dental and vision insurance coverage.  Retirees have three health plans to select from: a Self-funded Group Health Plan, which utilizes a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO), Medicare Advantage Plan for those retirees enrolled in Medicare or a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO). 

Retiree FAQs

The County pays all or a portion of the premium cost for retirees coverage based on hire date and years of service.  For retirees who wish to cover their dependents, the table below outlines the monthly cost, based upon plan selection and number of family members covered:

The PPO Plan for the Self-funded Group Health Plan is administered by CDS Group Health and the Preferred Provider Network is maintained by Universal Health Network.

The self-funded dental plan is administered by CDS Group Health and the list of PPO dental providers is managed by Nevada Health Partners

The Hartford manages the Deferred Compensation programs: 457 Deferred Compensation Plan, 401(a) Plan and the OBRA Plan.
