Smoking Rates
The following data was compiled from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS). The BRFSS is a national survey developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and is considered the standard for determining rates of tobacco use and other behaviors.

Washoe County smoking rates have been dropping for nearly a decade. For two years in a row, smoking rates in Washoe County were lower than rates for Nevada and the nation.
