Potential Smoke Paths from King Fire Thru Wednesday- Rough Estimates for Smoke Coverage - Based on latest forecast wind information.  Subtle changes in wind directions and fire activity can result in adjustments to these smoke forecasts.  Plan on periods of reduced air quality and visibility due to smoke.  Consult local air quality district forecasts for more specific information.  Issued Monday, Sept. 22, 2014 at 9:34 a.m. PDF by the National Weather Service - Reno, NV.  The areas of thickest smoke will cover the areas of Truckee, South Lake Tahoe, Carson City, Fernley, Fallon, Lovelock, Reno, Sparks, and Pyramid Lake.  The potential smoke path also reaches Gerlach, Susanville, Portola, Hawthorne, and Bridgeport.

The Air Quality Management Division implements clean air solutions that protect the quality of life for the citizens of Reno, Sparks, and Washoe County through community partnerships along with programs and services such as air monitoring, permitting and enforcement, planning, and public education.

Program description:

The Washoe County Health District Air Quality Management Division through its programs is responsible for controlling sources of air pollution and assuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental laws governing air quality.
