VETERANS COURT GENERAL INFORMATION

Overview Participants in Veterans Court are generally transferred from one of the other Specialty Courts. Veterans Court runs concurrent with the other treatment programs such as Bristlecone Family Resources or NNAMHS. |
Testing Weekly random drug and alcohol tests are required. Participants are assigned a color and must call daily Sunday through Thursday to see if they are testing that day. A color may be called several times per week. The testing number, location, and times are on the assigned color card. The cost is $15.00 per test.

Court Participants must attend court on a regular basis. Hearing frequency is based on participant's needs. Court is on Wednesday at 11:30am in the Specialty Court Courtroom. Failing to appear will result in the court issuing a bench warrant.

Treatment Participants must attend substance abuse or mental health counseling sessions. Counseling requirements are based on the participant's needs, typically starting aggressively. As progress is achieved, the requirements may be reduced. Costs of counseling may be reduced if VA eligible. |

Supervision If the participant is supervised by Parole and Probation, participants are expected to comply with probation and follow all requirements.

12-Step Meetings Participants must attend 12-Step meetings or court-offered alternatives a minimum of 3-times per week on different days and bring proof to every court appearance. Meetings attended on the same day as another meeting will not count towards the 3-per-week requirement.
