South Truckee Meadows GID

The Board of County Commissioners also sit in as the Board of Trustees of the South Truckee Meadows General Improvement District. This board provides water service in a specific area in southern Washoe County and, rather than being general tax-supported, is funded by the residents and businesses who obtain their water service from the District. The District also has a Local Managing Board, whose members are elected by the citizens of the District. The Local Managing Board makes many of the decision affecting the District and acts in an advisory capacity to the Board of Trustees on other matters.
