Recruitment now open for a District 3 citizen to serve as a District 3 representative

The Washoe County Board of Adjustment hears and decides requests for administrative permits, special use permits, variances and appeals of administrative decisions.

Membership

The board is comprised of five members who are appointed by the County commission. Members are appointed to four-year terms and may serve two consecutive terms.

Time Commitment

The Board meets the first Thursday of February, April, June, August, October and December at 1:30 p.m. in the Washoe County Commission Chambers. At times the Chair may call special meetings. Meetings average 2 to 3 hours in duration, and preparation time (which may include visits to an application site) averages 1 to 3 hours.

The Washoe County Board of Adjustment was created pursuant to NRS 278.270 and Washoe County Code Section 110.912.10.
