Citizen Advisory Board
Participating on a local Citizen Advisory Board is a direct way to help shape community functions, character and growth. The purpose of the CAB is to communicate ideas and concerns of local citizens to the County Commissioners, thus enabling the Commissioners to better do the job to which they were elected. Topics of discussion at CAB meetings are varied and may include: a review of local proposed development, regulations to guide building and safety, neighborhood public safety, and the design and construction of regional parks and open space.
The Washoe County Citizen Advisory Boards were created pursuant to NRS 244.1945 and Washoe County Code Section 5.425. Membership for each of the 6 active Boards ranges from five to twelve members; the terms of membership are generally set for staggered three year terms.
