ONLINE LICENSING INSTRUCTIONS

KENNEL PERMIT LICENSES - PLEASE DO NOT USE THE ONLINE SERVICE, ALL PERMITS MUST BE DONE AT THE SHELTER OFFICE

A current rabies certificate is required to be on file with Washoe County Regional Animal Services for all dog licenses.How to submit a rabies certificate 
Online during licensing by uploading the scanned certificate. 
By fax at (775) 353-8905
By Email at pets@washoecounty.us  
By mail to Washoe County Animal Services PO Box 11130 Reno NV 89520.
***Please make sure that the owner's name on the certificate is the same as the name the dog will be licensed under.

Renewing a license
If you are renewing a license, you may not need to submit a rabies certificate.
To find out if a new rabies certificate is needed, check the rabies expiration date on our online renewal site. If the date is expired, you will need to submit a current rabies certificate.

For renewal licenses, you will need the license tag number and the person ID number to start the process. This would be located in your email notice or on your renewal card.

More than three dogs and kennel permits
Only three dogs can be licensed per residence (address).
If you have more than three dogs to license, please go to our Animal Permits page for instructions on kennel permits.

The online service cannot be used for new and renewal kennel permit licensing.

For changes to licensed dogs; 
     To advise that your dog is deceased or has been given away
     To change your address and contact information
     To register a microchip
     To add a picture for your license (.jpeg format only please)
     Or any other licensing requests or changes
Email pets@washoecounty.us with requested change, license tag number, name of dog, and owner's name.
