WHAT IS THE NNRIC?
Protecting our communities through shared information and communications
The Northern Nevada Regional Intelligence Center (NNRIC) is a central location for the receipt of information and collaboration between law enforcement, public safety and the private sector. The NNRIC is designed to identify criminal and terrorism threats and provide appropriate services for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of information. The NNRIC converts information into operational intelligence to detect, deter, and defend against terrorist attacks and major criminal threats within Washoe County, Nevada and facilitate communications between federal, state and local agencies and our private sector partners.
The mission of the NNRIC is to protect the citizens and critical infrastructure assets of the United States of America and specifically Nevada by enhancing intelligence and domestic preparedness operations for all federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, governmental agencies whose mission it is to protect the citizenry, and public entities associated with critical infrastructure assets.
Training Those Who Serve
The NNRIC facilitates and provides intensive multi-disciplinary training to law enforcement, public safety and private sector professionals to increase knowledge and strengthen counter-terrorism and anti-criminal readiness.
Become a FLO/TLO Partner
A Fusion/Terrorism Liaison Officer (FLO/TLO) is an individual who serves as the point of contact for a law enforcement or public safety agency, or within the private sector, in matters related to terrorism and criminal information and intelligence. A FLO/TLO, though not necessarily an expert in terrorism, attends meetings and receives terrorism training, information, and intelligence from the local fusion center, online resources, and other entities engaged in homeland security initiatives. The FLO/TLO then educates others within his or her agency/entity, thereby enhancing situational awareness, early warning, and operational readiness.
Critical Infrastructure Protection
The NNRIC's Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) capability enables public and private entities to identify, assess, prioritize, and protect critical infrastructure and key resources so they can detect, prevent, deter, devalue, and mitigate deliberate efforts to destroy, incapacitate, or exploit critical infrastructure and key resources.
